Right, now the member of the month, once Wild Card has been opened a month and is up and running, is decided by various things. The first thing: Activity. A member must be active with the site, meaning they come on at least once or twice every other day to check posts and reply to the people they're posting with. Two: they're involved with what's going on with the site. That means anything out of character or in character. If there's a change going on, they're giving feedback on it, or if we've started a poll for opinions on something, they've voted and replied, etc., etc. Over all just being involved. Thirdly: They're kind and respectful to the other players in OOC, the one that can be viewed by everyone. That includes the Cbox, the game board, and anything in the OOC categories. They're also willing to help members or guests that have questions if the admins aren't online to do it themselves
"We can not simply be in the middle of nowhere because a closet must be in a house, or at least a building, of some sort. We obviously must be somewhere. If you could just manage to get us out of here, we would be able to find out just where in the hell we are." –Sweeney Todd

Like the man said, everyone must obviously be somewhere at some point in time, you can’t just be no where, it’s impossible.

Regardless of which continent you rested on, which country you called your home, you were somewhere.

Were, that is. I say ‘were’ because that would mean it was your previous place of residence. Obviously you’re not there now if you don’t recognize the old-fashioned Victorian furnishing, the high ceilings, fancy carpets and patterned wall papers. But just how you got here is completely unknown to you.

Really, nobody has any logical explanation. You were simply taken from your story, wherever you existed, and placed somewhere inside (or outside) the house. If you’re lucky, you landed near someone else in your same predicament, and if you’re luckier, you befriended them.

Some would call it the twist of fate, a wild card that’s thrown into a card game at the last minute to totally throw it off the course it had been taking, possibly in your favor.

Either way, you can’t leave. Don’t try, you won’t succeed. So you may as well get to know the other residents and have fun while you’re at it. They’re not that bad, and the house is beautiful (as well as its grounds), so why not just relax and put that old world behind you?

Step into the world of Wild Card. Humans from eras you didn’t know existed, talking animals, and one large and enchanted house.

 Occupied. [ LOCKED ROOM ]

The door was locked... But Ben wasn't inside of it.

He peered at the bathroom door handle in quiet thought and gave a single knock on it, leaning in closer to listen. The room certainly was occupied, which was rather a coincidence since the other people he'd heard and briefly glimpsed wandering about the house no longer were.

Curiouser and Curiouser.

"Hello?" He said in his rather distinctive voice as he squinted just ever-so, listening. Why should these others be locked in the bathroom? Ha, but then again, why any of this? The house was just as curious as the Island and he'd long ago learned that anything was possible. It didn't stop him questioning though, there was always something to find out.

And what a spot of luck, to not be locked in with the others. (no pun intended) if there was any situation that Ben was good at, it was being on the power-holding side of a negotiation. He might be able to get them out, find them a key... but what did -he- want in return? Well, he certainly wanted to go back to the island, but unless one of them had a temporal/spatial anomaly stashed in their pockets that wasn't likely to happen any time soon.

And also, what would happen when they got out if he did try to finagle this his way too forcefully? No, that wouldn't do at all. This situation would have to be figured out and assessed quickly. Was he alone in being the only one not locked in, or were there others? Where was the key for the bathroom? Did someone else have it? All important things to know. If there -was- a key somewhere and someone else had it, he certainly wanted it.

"Charlie Pace, are you in there?" He called out, the cog-wheels turning in his head at a dizzying speed. This could be a fruitful situation indeed. Charlie had had the upper hand over him the day he'd arrived, but if Charlie was indeed locked in, the table had turned in Ben's favour, and he knew what he wanted.

He wanted the components for a radio.

Surely there would be something in the house that could be manufactured into one, and he was handy with his hands and his brain. If he could just send out 'The Numbers,' maybe Charles Whidmore and his band of performing monkeys might get a lock on their location, might blaze in looking to capture him, and actually wind up rescuing him. Maybe Faraday would be with them. Maybe he could figure out how to get out of the anomaly.

"Hello? Anyone home?"

There was just something about the first moments where conscienous began to sink in that Ilse loved. Going from the peaceful oblivion of sleep to opening your eyes to what she hoped would be a nice, sunny day. She wasn't exactly a fan of rain; it just felt too depressing and it seemed like the times when her father would hurt her stuck out in her memory even more when it had rained that day. Besides, the look of sunlight on the walls, brightening the colors, making even gray seem bright and making the grass seem like it was close to shining...that was the most wonderful sight of all.

A smile crossed across her face as she stirred, turning over onto her back, only to feel a slight amount of pain on it. Her smile snapped off almost immediately. Now I don't remember the bed being this...hard... she thought as she opened her eyes. She had to blink a couple of times to make sure that she wasn't seeing things. She slowly sat up, discovering that there was no cover over her. She usually didn't start a nap with one, but she somehow always managed to have one over her, so that was further proof that something very odd was going on. She finally recognized the place as one of the bathrooms. Now how did I get here...? she thought. Sleepwalking wasn't a habit of hers at all, as far as she could tell, so she was almost certain she couldn't have done that.

It was about ten minutes later when the normally calm girl began to panic. This wasn't a situation she was used to and she had tried to door dozens of times. So she was locked in the bathroom, and there was definitely other people here. People that, unfortunately, she didn't know all that well. It seemed that the strange situation refused to become anymore ordinary, as she heard someone asking for a Charlie Pace on the other side of the door. Her eyebrows knitted together. She usually liked how unpredictable the manor was, but this was a little too much. Letting out a sigh when the man asked if there was anyone there, she walked closer to the door. If she couldn't force it open, perhaps whoever was on the other side could.

"Hello? Who is this?" she asked warily. She knew better than to ask for him to get them out just yet. If she didn't even know who it was, for all she knew, it could be some sort of trick. She may have had a tendency to come off as innocent, but she was certainly not naive at all. Living on her own made sure of that.

A summer's day
A mother sings
A song of purple summer
Through the heart of everything
And heaven waits
so close it seems
to show her child the wonders
of a world beyond her dreams
