Right, now the member of the month, once Wild Card has been opened a month and is up and running, is decided by various things. The first thing: Activity. A member must be active with the site, meaning they come on at least once or twice every other day to check posts and reply to the people they're posting with. Two: they're involved with what's going on with the site. That means anything out of character or in character. If there's a change going on, they're giving feedback on it, or if we've started a poll for opinions on something, they've voted and replied, etc., etc. Over all just being involved. Thirdly: They're kind and respectful to the other players in OOC, the one that can be viewed by everyone. That includes the Cbox, the game board, and anything in the OOC categories. They're also willing to help members or guests that have questions if the admins aren't online to do it themselves
"We can not simply be in the middle of nowhere because a closet must be in a house, or at least a building, of some sort. We obviously must be somewhere. If you could just manage to get us out of here, we would be able to find out just where in the hell we are." –Sweeney Todd

Like the man said, everyone must obviously be somewhere at some point in time, you can’t just be no where, it’s impossible.

Regardless of which continent you rested on, which country you called your home, you were somewhere.

Were, that is. I say ‘were’ because that would mean it was your previous place of residence. Obviously you’re not there now if you don’t recognize the old-fashioned Victorian furnishing, the high ceilings, fancy carpets and patterned wall papers. But just how you got here is completely unknown to you.

Really, nobody has any logical explanation. You were simply taken from your story, wherever you existed, and placed somewhere inside (or outside) the house. If you’re lucky, you landed near someone else in your same predicament, and if you’re luckier, you befriended them.

Some would call it the twist of fate, a wild card that’s thrown into a card game at the last minute to totally throw it off the course it had been taking, possibly in your favor.

Either way, you can’t leave. Don’t try, you won’t succeed. So you may as well get to know the other residents and have fun while you’re at it. They’re not that bad, and the house is beautiful (as well as its grounds), so why not just relax and put that old world behind you?

Step into the world of Wild Card. Humans from eras you didn’t know existed, talking animals, and one large and enchanted house.

JOHANNA BARKER

She wonders what ever became of her father and hope to one day be reunited with him.

Erik: The Phantom of the Opera
« Thread Started on Feb 27, 2008, 2:15pm »

Name: Erik
Nicknames: The phantom
Age: who knows, and who cares
Gender: male
Birthday: unknown, he doesn't celebrate it
Height & Weight: w = 120ish h = 6' 4"
Species: human
Race: white, English
Sexuality: questioned by many, but is known to be strait

Personality: closed off, stalkerific (my word no stealing with out permission).
Erik would rather blend in with the shadows, suprizing people with his apperance than anything. He’s a recluse, preferring to be alone, a ghost in the rafters. He has a weird view of the world, like a street rat child looking into a closed expensive candy store window. He does not trust easily, and is not overly loyal unless you have probven your worth.

Appearance: dark hair, pale skin, usually has a mask on, but underneath you can see all the veins and muscles and bone on one half of his face. He wears dark clothing to mask himself in darkness, taking advantage of his scilent approach
History:Where to start? He was a gifted genius a younger age than five. He ran away from home, becoming a prisoner of the gypsies. Ran away from there after an unmentionable experience, became a stonemason's apprentice. Accidentally killing the stonemason's daughter, he runs again, becoming a magician in Persia.
Finally he came to rest in Paris. After years of teaching his lovleyy Christene, she disapeers with his mask. Outraged he threw himself into a fit until the mob swoped down on him. Then he too was gone. He spend who knows how long in a white limbo before landoing here. Now he must find Christine and regain his stolen and favorite mask.

Other information: nada thing
When they were taken from the story: The mob entered his room, and he, running for his life, disappeared in mid step after grabbing a spare mask, not fancy or nothing just plain white, (the one Christine had taken ended in blue tile) Essentially a little bit after Meg.

Series: Phantom of the Opera
Proof: movies, books musicals, you name it he was there
Other notes: He might become a player, now that he meets more women here, just to warn you. Since he knew that Christine would have run from him.

[b]Sample Post:/b]A dark figure crossed the threshold into the room. Glass shards rattled to the ground. The masked figure watched them drop, a blank expression on his face. Dark hair tied back, from where he had left it to grow over the two years. Erik sighed, looking around the room. He stood in the room he had sung in all those years ago. Cruel eyes passed over the bed, the candles flickering. The work on the opera house was finished, and he was glad. He had returned to the surface, after recovering for a year from a maddening disease, to find the workers already there. His wandering mind returned to his body, and Erik trailed his hands over the white sheets. A sad frown crossed his masked face and he turned to the mirror. The broken shards reflected a pale body covered in robes, and a white mask. He swirled his cape in a magnificent way. Tomorrow someone may inhabit this room, and the mirror would be replaced. He had already put his own mirror in the replacement's box. He had a passage to clear by morning light, he reminded himself and smiled. Before crossing the mirror door's threshold he spun, giving the room one last dignified nod. Erik could feel the presence of Christine, sometimes, and felt that it would be best to act like she could see him. He pulled a cream colored piece of parchment from a fold in his robe, and set it on the dresser as he passed. Red wax had dried on the paper, a skull pressed into its crimson flesh. The letter was but a welcome to the theater, and the rules. It was also thanks for repairing the theater house while he was sick. He couldn't wait to watch the new owners gasp and gawk at the letter again. A dreadful smile spread across his boney face, and he stepped into the darkness. His cloak swept the glass shards away from the light to be hidden until further inspection. Not a thing told of his presence but the letter. Tomorrow, the world would be right once more, all there was left now was the wait.

It's good, but more will definately have to be added to personality, appearance, and history. At the minimum, appearance & personality should be a paragraph, and history, at the minimum, two to three paragraphs. Even though I know Phantom forwards and backwards, some people don't. So if someone just randomly opened this application, we have to make sure that they'd understand it. I love the word, though... stalkerific, *giggling*

And the player thing made me gigglefit, too, except Christine could end up getting a bit possessive (as odd as that sounds). Since she doesn't know about the murders or anything, well... really all she's afraid of is his face, and she's starting to get over that. XD So you never know... As soon as you're accepted I definitely want to do a thread with the two of them, ^^;;
